Nancy L. Martin
Nancy grew up being physically active – her favorite childhood memories are those of water and snow skiing with her family. She was considered a jock by those who knew her, playing field hockey through high school and college. She graduated with a degree in Health and Physical Education from Keene State College in New Hampshire. It’s not surprising that she remained involved with sports after college by coaching field hockey and basketball at the high school level for over 10 years. She was listed as one of the “who’s who among American Teachers” in 1987, 1994 and 2005.
Experiencing the impact that coaches have on athletes, Nancy decided to practice that relationship with a focus toward fitness. She recognized the limited impact she could have on children in the school setting, especially given the decline in Physical Education requirements. To truly make a difference she realized she needed to impact adults who would then in turn help their children/students – if parents and teachers lead active lifestyles their children are more likely to do the same.
Currently Nancy coaches clients and trains future fitness coaches while keeping up her teaching schedule. She lives in Central Maine with her husband and two children.
